Reports
MLFS market study
The report summarizes findings from the SustainSAHEL project's 2024 market and social factors survey, highlighting barriers, opportunities, and policy recommendations for agroforestry adoption across seven Sahelian sites. Emphasis is placed on market structures, social dynamics, gender roles, and recommendations from local stakeholders to improve agricultural resilience and market integration. Included is a note on the notion of social facts and social phenomena as distinct from bio-physical ones.
Most respondents were involved in the project and based in one of the seven areas or Living labs. This report is the result of a collaborative effort within the SustainSAHEL project, with special thanks to the site managers, enumerators, and all respondents who shared their insights and experiences. The analysis also benefited from the integration of AI-assisted qualitative tools, which enabled the team to process and interpret a complex dataset efficiently.
